Some friends and I competed this past weekend at DCA. While we were really there just for the fun of performing and seeing old friends, it was nice to learn that we actually took second place (94.0) only one point behind a very deserving Cadre drum line (95.0). Skyliners were third with a 92.0.

The five of us in the Classic Cavaliers (a group of Cavaliers alumni and friends from other corps) put this solo together a few weeks ago. It consists of a modified rendition of "Bully" from the Cavaliers in the mid-60s, followed by "The Captain," a modified version of the Cavaliers 1975 drum solo, and finally a modified version of "Sing,Sing,Sing" played in 1958, 1981, and during the Cavaliers 2008 60th anniversary corps performance.

We used fully refurbished Rogers Dynasonic 12x15 marching snares, circa mid-60s.

Drummers (L-R) are:

Paul Leo (Cavaliers 68 -76)
Paul Milano (Cavaliers 70 - 74)
Mike Lorenz (Cavaliers 64 - 67)
Skip Swoverland (Cavaliers 70 - 72)
Rich Meyer - our student long ago (Fox Valley Raiders 72 - 77)

Enjoy the video!

This was great. I like medley arrangement, the look of the drums, the playing style--everything. Great job!

Very proud to have marched with the two Pauls and all five of these gentlemen for continuing the Cavalier standards of precision drumming. Larry McCormack done good!
